La Nike Air Max 97 DB è stata originariamente lanciata nel dicembre 2018 come parte della collezione annuale Doernbecher Freestyle del marchio a beneficio dell’OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital di Portland, Oregon. È stato progettato dalla sedicenne Kirsten Brown. Una tomaia in mesh nero e pelle testurizzata presenta sovrapposizioni traslucide. “SRVVR” è scritto in grandi caratteri viola su ciascun pannello laterale. “Survivor” è anche scritto in verde acqua su ciascuna linguetta del tallone. Other special markings that allude to Brown surviving heart transplant surgery include green and red ribbons on each outsole to represent heart transplant and stroke awareness, the date of her surgery, and EKG readings on the insoles.
